Cryptocurrency bill: Trump set to sign before August?

On May 15, at the Consensus 2025 conference in Toronto, Bo Hines, the executive director of the U.S. Presidential Advisory Committee on Digital Assets, stated that despite uncertainty in the legislative process, Trump is expected to sign the Stablecoin and Market Structure Act before the August congressional recess. Hines shared that current negotiations are progressing; however, the details of the law are still being adjusted.

When asked about the conflict of interest from the Trump family's involvement in cryptocurrency business, Hines affirmed the legal right of the president's children to participate in the capital market as private investors and believes that digital assets are the future direction of the financial industry.

Regarding the rumor of a company buying TRUMP coins, Hines clarified that "the President of the United States cannot be bought." Additionally, Hines stated that the White House and members of the task force are building a strategic Bitcoin reserve.
