According to the Crypto Report 2025 by Multipolitan, there are new surprises in the ranking of the top 25 most crypto-friendly cities in the world.

In fact, to win this ranking was Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, followed by Hong Kong and Zurich tied

In practice, Ljubljana wins the first position in the ranking of the most crypto-friendly cities in the world with 173 points, Hong Kong and Zurich are in second place with 172 points and, in third place, there is Singapore and Abu Dhabi, both with 168 points

The ranking continues with Lussemburgo, Muscat, Porto, Oslo and, in tenth place, with Sydney and its 148 points

In practice, following its own metric, the consulting company Multipolitan would have pre-selected 27 cities based on 5 criteria at the country level, to ensure they were in line with flourishing crypto ecosystems

Multipolitan has compiled its ranking of the most crypto-friendly cities taking into account 5 metrics: 1) regulatory environment, 2) tax regime, 3) wealth and lifestyle, 4) digital infrastructure and 5) infrastructure for cryptocurrencies

Each metric contributed to the aggregate score, with a double weighting of the crypto culture to highlight its importance

The final scores, scaled to 180 points, determined the ranking, highlighting the cities that combine legal, economic, and infrastructural strengths to attract crypto enthusiasts and investors

Another ranking, then, considers instead the Crypto Wealth Concentration Index by Multipolitan, which combines the cryptocurrency ownership rates and the trading volume. Here are the top 10 positions:

In any case, Multipolitan then summarized its data by stating who the protagonists of the crypto sector are.

Here, it indicated the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as leaders in global adoption, given that 25.3% of the population owns cryptocurrencies. Not surprisingly, only in 2024, the users of the UAE recorded a record of crypto app downloads, reaching 15 million installations, 41% more than in 2023.

India is also a protagonist with its 118.9 million cryptocurrency holders, making it the largest cryptocurrency community in the world

The USA, then, are the so-called “engine of money” and indeed they are home to some of the largest crypto-exchanges and institutional investors in the world, dominating volumes of 2.07 trillion dollars

The small nations with the most crypto influence are then Slovenia, Cyprus, and Hong Kong

The primacy also in 2023 for cryptocurrency enthusiasts

Slovenia had emerged as the capital of crypto enthusiasts worldwide also in another study conducted by Marketplace Fairness, October 2023

In practice, the report analyzed the intensity of searches on ten different crypto, crypto-exchanges, and blockchain technologies. With this method, the study would identify the nations where enthusiasm for crypto is more pronounced globally, creating a ranking.

And so, Slovenia turned out to be the crypto city with the most enthusiasts, followed by Ireland and then the USA.
