Sources: In Indian-administered Kashmir, the death toll from Pakistani shelling rises to 12

On May 7, Jin10 reported that a senior Indian defense official stated that the number of casualties from the nighttime shelling by the Pakistani military on the Indian side of the Line of Control in Kashmir has risen, with 12 civilians dead and 57 injured. Since the shooting incident in Indian-controlled Kashmir on April 22 that sharply deteriorated relations between the two countries, India and Pakistan have been exchanging fire almost daily across the Line of Control. The Pakistani military previously confirmed that in response to India's airstrikes on its territory, Pakistan conducted nighttime shelling on Indian positions in the Indian-controlled Kashmir region. India accused Pakistan of "unprovoked firing across the Line of Control."
