Connecticut rejected Bitcoin, Bo Hines mocked.
Connecticut, one of the most economically powerful states in the U.S., became the first state to ban government agencies from accepting Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Governor Ned Lamont signed the decision yesterday, and the ban is now officially in effect.
Ironic reaction from Bo Hines
Bo Hines, who was appointed by Donald Trump as the chairman of the Digital Assets Advisors Board, reacted to this decision. Ironically mocking the decision-makers, Hines said, "Typewriters are celebrating, while rotary phones are standing in solidarity." In this way, Hines has defined those who support the law as opponents of technology.
As a reminder, last week another major state, Texas, had also passed the Bitcoin reserve law. The state also made the decision to purchase Bitcoin worth 10 million dollars.
New Hampshire and Arizona have become two other states that approve crypto reserve assets.
Donald Trump also signed the federal Bitcoin reserve decree in March.
