AI, Biotechnology, and Crypto Assets: The Three Pillars of Future Technology According to Silicon Valley Prophets
The Three Major Future Technology Fields According to Technology Prophets
Recently, Marc Andreessen, co-founder of the renowned American investment firm Andreessen Horowitz, gave an interview. As a "Silicon Valley prophet," Andreessen shared his views on technological trends such as artificial intelligence, cryptocurrency, and Web3, and discussed why mature companies find it difficult to compete with digital startups.
Anderson believes that the current technology industry is in a "search phase" and has identified three highly promising new areas of development:
Artificial Intelligence ( AI ): including deep learning, machine learning, GPT-3, and other technologies.
Biotechnology ( Biotech ): Includes revolutionary technologies that combine biology and engineering, such as genomics and mRNA technology.
Cryptocurrency ( Crypto ) and Web3: Technologies for building a trusted network on the internet around distributed consensus.
Anderson stated that a large number of outstanding talents are flocking to these three major fields, becoming the core driving force behind the industry's development. He believes this is a fundamental technological transformation that will take 25-30 years to complete.
Regarding the competition between traditional enterprises and digital startups, Anderson pointed out that many large companies are still reluctant to position themselves as technology companies, and true technology experts have not been given due attention. Meanwhile, startups, led by technology experts, are keeping pace with advanced technologies.
Anderson suggests that traditional companies should find the smartest technology experts in the company and make them the CEO to drive digital transformation. He believes that only with technology experts at the helm can companies succeed in competing with tech companies.
In the field of cryptocurrency and Web3, Anderson believes this is "the second half of the internet." It establishes a trust layer on an untrusted network, bringing all economic activities that cannot be conducted online onto the internet.
Anderson also shared two types of mistakes in venture capital: investment failures and missed opportunities. He believes that missing significant opportunities is a more serious mistake, which compels investors to remain open to new things.
Overall, Anderson believes that the future development of technology will revolve around three major areas: AI, biotechnology, and cryptocurrency. He calls on traditional enterprises to pay attention to technological innovation, allowing technology experts to truly take charge in order to address the challenges brought by the wave of digitization.
